Did a little post-deer hunting hog scouting today while small game hunting at Ft. Stewart. Great morning to get out and about. Probably put five or more miles in. When looking for hog sign, it doesn't get much better than this.

How many hoops do you have to jump through to hunt Stewart?I`m retired military.
You have to purchase a permit. For you that would be $50 a year. Allows you to hunt all game. Need a hunter safety certificate. Check in and out is by phone. If the area is open, and many are, they never fill up. Actually, I hardly ever see another hunter. It's hog central. Deer hunting is okay. Hogs can be hunted all year but right now east of HWY 119 (which cuts the base in half north to south, you can only hunt with small game weapons until the end of February. That is new. Each year, between the end of deer season (Mid January) to the end of small games season (end of February) half the base will be small game weapons only. Each half will rotate each year. During turkey season I do not believe you can hunt hogs. Outside of those restrictions, it's fight on. These two were taken about 3 weeks ago while hunting/walking along a creek bottom.
