Item Description: K98 Mauser 1940 Oberndorf I have had this for a few years so my research may be a bit out dated and be spotty. This is a Turkish capture, they Turks claimed nutrality through most of the war and allowed the Germans free troop movements across their borders until close to the end when it was pretty clear the Germans would loose, the Turks declared war on Germany and captured all the soldiers an equipment that was retreating back from the east. receiver and barrel match each other most other parts are a mix from Turks re-arsenal the rifle to their own specs which included chanting the sling mounts they however kept all the German markings and kept the rifle blued. The stock has varnish on it might have been done by the Turks but more likely Bubba.
I'm a little conflicted about listing this so I may change my mind and commit to building more wall-space for my growing milsurp collection.
Check out my other listings and enjoy the pictures.
