Guess what *47 is...............................Alabama State Troopers. It was a very confusing conversation on both ends. LOL

Pay no attention to that black helicopter circling overhead...
So, did they ask for your address -
for you know-
to send technician over to help you get the right 'ring tone'
Can't wait to tell my uncle Tim who is a retired Alabama state trooper about it. He'll get a kick out of it. LOL

Worked at a place once (for way too long) and they put in a new phone system that a friendly co-worker had to manage. Somebody working late at night called 911 a few times a week. Cops were dispatched trying to find out who was doing it to no avail. My friend got in the system and found the extension that was doing the calling and what time it happened - it was something like between 11pm and 11:30pm.

They got the manager over that area involved and he said only the cleaning crew was working that late at night. Finally discovered a new hire with limited English skills who started their shift at 11pm and, who would have thought, was dialing 9 for an outside line then dialing 11 for the country code where most of her family lived. That person called most of the time correctly (costing the company tons of long-distance charges) but when they dialed incorrectly 911 got called. My friend got no credit whatsoever for saving the company many tens of thousands of dollars in calling charges when he blocked the ability to do that in the future.
