ga gun law questions

I am no lawyer but the way I read the law it only talks about while in the vehicle never talks to departing the vehicle and entering facility only about being parked and in transit through property. So if your driving to pick you child up outside its OK but if you have to enter the facility you have to leave weapon locked in vehicle.

Just my opinion like I said not a lawyer just like to play one every now and then.

It seems to me some of you guys may be mixing the answers for GWL holders with non licensed carry.

If I had no license, personally I would not carry on school property with it at all. Not even in the car.

As a licensed person, it stays in the car for me, until we get some clarification on the law. Hopefully one of you guys can nail this down for us. That would be awesome.

If you have to sign for a child that is part of picking up if you ask me. If you have to sign why your child is late that is all part of dropping off.

And besides, concealed is concealed.

Ok......this is the mucky grey water area that the GA legislature is trying to clearify. That is why ...yes going into the office is necessary for many schools to picked up a student is required but does the way the law is currently worded mean that's included in the "dropping off or picking up "....it's all open to who interprets the law at the time of the incident. It is so GREY most of us just play safe and consider vehicle drop off or pick up only. We need to continue to request our legislature to continually review and ammend these areas of poor interpretation.
