I went to the Georgia Gun Store in Gainesville yesterday, one of my favorite retail stores. They have big signs saying Cash Only everywhere. I asked about it and didn’t get a answer, but they have been doing it for a little over a week. They did say they weren’t closing when I asked; I can think of a few other reasons they would stop taking plastic, but does anyone know for sure?
They were very busy selling guns at their normal great prices, looks like you also have the option to buy a box of 9mm with a gun purchase, just not by itself. They had a line of people waiting to do the background check; Biden is good for one thing.....gun sales.

From their website:

WE HAVE STOPPED TAKING CREDIT CARDS IN THE STORE
WE ARE NOT TAKING ONLINE ORDERS

You can see how crazy things are right now. The socialist cancel culture has started dropping websites and stopped doing business with conservatives and gun related companies.

There are several companies invloved in the use of a credit card or debit card:

  1. Your bank or card issuer.
  2. visa / MC / amex etc.
  3. Merchant service clearing house, they actually handle the transactions.
  4. Backing banks, they guarantee the clearing house's transactions. Clearing houses have to have 3 major banks backing them. Large banks like citibank, wells fargo, bankamerica. These banks dictate what type of transactions or business the clearing houses can process.
The merchant does not get the money directly when you use your credit or debit card, the clearing house does. They then deposit the funds in the merchant's account after a day or so.

At any point, any of those entities can decide not to fund the transaction or even to withdraw the funds after the fact.

In our current political/social climate we do not want to risk one of those entities who have control of our funds to decide they do not want to do business with us and hold our money till they see fit to release it to us or even worse to take it back from us.

This is from last year but is a worthwhile read: https://www.foxnews.com/us/us-banks-financial-institutions-severing-ties-gun-industry

We will re-evaluate this at the end of January.

Our retail store is open and we have a decent inventory.

If you are local, please stop by the store. We would love to see you.

Ok that make sense. I searched GA Gun store in the forum and didn’t see anything, must have missed it. Scary times when banks try to control legal private business.
