Georgia Gun Owners organization made a mistake

It's a politically unwise decision to fill out surveys IMO. Make statements in your own words and use your own history. Surveys and questionnaires are great use against a candidate in a campaign, and an organizations question will be quoted as your own statement when in all reality it is less black and white, but you were just aiming for 100%.

I say put your efforts into other organizations that won't make you use their words.

Here is a copy of the email they sent out. It is clear what they are doing and NO, I did not receive a survey from them.

"Dear Voter

I have good news and bad news in the January 7 HD 22 special election where you live.

First, the good news . . .

I'm pleased to report that Republican candidate Sam Moore has returned his Georgia Gun Owners candidate survey 100% in favor of your right to keep and arms.

He pledged in writing to support "Constitutional Carry," the most pro-gun piece of legislation in America, repeal dangerous criminal safezones in Georgia, and oppose fingerprinting and new government fees in order for individuals to exercise Second Amendment rights here in Georgia.

Now, the bad news -- candidates Jeff Duncan, Nate Cochran and Meagan Biello refused to return their GGO candidate surveys.

History tells us that candidates who refuse to say where they stand on your gun rights are usually hiding something.

It usually means they won't be 100% pro-gun once safely in office.

Once again, Republican candidate Sam Moore has returned in his GGO candidate survey 100% in favor of your right to keep and bear arms.

Please thank him by sending him an email at the following address:

sam@voteformoore.com

When you go into the voting booth next Tuesday, it's vital your Second Amendment rights are on your mind.

For freedom,

D.R. Leonard
Political Director"

I am surprised they weren't more careful with the wording of that email.

"Refused to return a survey" seems pretty libelous. (How do they know anyone "refused" to respond to something like this? What if the survey was lost in the mail?)

They could have maybe gone down the "we didn't hear from" road, but "refused to return" seems harsh-especially since they never had any idea that you actually got the survey.

I am not a fan of throwing lawsuits around, but I think a corrective letter would be in order. GGO appears to be staffed by some less than stellar talent.
(I have a feeling that they are trying to get donations from the various candidates-and holding back their support from those who haven't given what they are looking for...)

This thread is about supporting a fellow ODT member and his run for office, not about your butthurted expose on why you're morally superior to everyone because you made your own trust. We all know how you feel about this issue as you've made it abundantly clear, multiple times.
