The old Wynnewood pool located between Cave Spring and Rome Ga was the place to be between the 1930s until the early 70s. It was a spring fed pool that was ice cold with a lake adjacent where boats could be rented and enjoyed. Patrons who did not have a swim suit in the early years could rent one. Watermelons were placed into the stream to cool as picnic lunches were laid out on tables under willow trees nearby. A bath house/concession stand stood near the pool with a juke box that cranked out the latest tunes. I was recently given permission to metal detect the area and here are photos of Wynnewood as it appears today.

Welllll….. did you find any goodies ???

Every time I went to see the Braves, they lost. Not a good team back then. My Uncle caught two balls while we were there. He still has them.
Remember the old wooden seats??
I've never seen them win a game. Every single game I've ever attended in person...they lost.
I figured it was just me.
I had tickets for the NLCS the year they won the WS but they cinched before that game...lucky them.
I could have gotten my money back but instead I framed them and hung them on the wall.

I could have gone to that World Series for free. But I couldn't get off from work. I'd never been to one, it would've special to me
