A little Saint Simons history...

The plaque has an error of omission, however, as there were also a few orphan girls at the home.

The federal government later purchased (confiscated) the family tract to become Fort Frederica National Monument.

My pics ain't near this old or historic but here's the Allman Brothers grave site at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon. They're way down by the river and train tracks. Just around the corner from the Confederate gaves on the hill.
