Yea the old ones had a thumb print.
I could always imagine a cop looking at me then the thumb print, then me, then the thumb print, lol.
Had no value at all the way I saw it....
Hopefully none of them are from the ODT. If nothing else maybe we can protect our own from getting scammed.
I got my first license or permit as they called it around 1990 or 91. Have renewed every 5 yrs since. Back then they were $25.00 for the B G check and $5.00 for finger printing. now it is $30.00 to renew. How much is a new one nowadays. Of course the Gubment is going to take full advantage of the rise in folks getting a license go sho.
Best I recall someone lately said $75 for first timers.

Maybe it was 10 yrs between renewals. I was thinking it was 5, from when I got my first one. Believe it or not, my employer back then actually offered to pay for me an one other guy to get our first carry permit. Someone broke into the plant during a weekend while they were shut down, stole a bunch of stuff, destroyed a bunch of stuff and wrecked the office area. The owner of the company came down and called me and the plant manager up front. I was the Maintenance Supervisor. He said he wanted us to get a "gun permit. " Said the company would pay for us to get them, and would be willing to buy us a handgun, and send us both to a gun safety class. Well turns out the plant manager had a felony drug conviction and lost his job, and i never told the owner I had several handguns already. He bought me a S & W 9mm. About a month later I got a page fron the new security system that there was an unauyhorized entry door opened at the plant about 2:30 am and when I got to the plant, the Police were pulling in. Guess who we caught wrecking the front office,,,,,,,,,,,,tha former plant manager. LOL
They are calling it re-apply not renewal. Don't know why but mine expires in April. Still have the same file from the original in 1995. Crazy laws and rules.
