Getting in shape for summer... who's in?

Alright, I'm in.

Got a desk job at work from a manual labor job for the last 10 years. Gained 30 pounds in 4 months. About 5 pounds away from hitting 300 on the scale after sitting around 265 for years.

Bought a squat rack, bench, and 300lbs of Olympic weights. Did my first workout tonight. Disgusted at how heavy the weights I used to warm up with felt.

All of that's going to change now. No excuses when the weights are in the next room!

So I just signed up for the myfitnesspal app to try to do a better job of tracking my daily consumption and to help realize the amount of crap I consume on a daily basis.

I see that it sets me a goal on the top left and then subtracts what I've ate and adds any exercise Ive done to give me a remaining calorie intake. Im assumeing that my real goal is to end the day with this number being as high as possible?

I notice that depending on the "activity level" I select that it's recommended calorie intake changes. Is this to account for calories lostduring my basic daily movement? If this is the case should I not enter info from a step tracker like fitbit?

If I do use the info off the fitbit should I soley use it's info and not input the info from exercise machines into the myfitness app as the fitbit will already be counting the steps within the activity?

Sorry for all the questions just don't want to double dip on my results and start out incorrect.

I've been using myfitnesspal for the last week. Ive noticed that if I put in weight training exercise it does not increase my daily total. I haven't done any cardio so I don't know how that works.

I have noticed that I eat less knowing I have to log it.

Ok, lets hear some updates. I'm down roughly 27lbs. That number is a little deceiving though since my clothes are fitting more loosely every day but I am gaining strength and muscle mass. I will most likely see the scale start dropping again soon.

That's good **** man!!!

I started Monday with a trainer. Trying to go from 210 to under 190.

We are the same weight. You right down what the trainer says and put in here for me to read. Deal?
I reckon so.... Yesterday all we did was take measurements and find my max bench press. He said that to cut the weight I need to do atleast 30 Min of Cardio 5-6times a week.

Did Insanity,Zumba and sled drills yesterday.
Today I did T-25 and will do spinning tonight.
