Gibson Les Paul VS Fender Strat *and* Peavey Amp VS Marshall Amp

Different purposes on the guitars - Les Paul for rhythm and Strat for lead is my opinion. Marshall tube on the amp - otherwise Peavey were always good for solid state amps. Just depends on what you want to play.

I've had several Fender guitars, but I prefer Gibsons. I've had one Les Paul in the past, but my favorite sounding guitar was an Explorer with an ebony neck. I prefer the Marshall tube amps, but I do have a Peavey Delta Blues that sounds great. For rock music I don't think you can beat a Gibson electric paired with a Marshall amp.

Both the Gibson and the Strat are great guitars. It also really depends on what you are trying to play. I know i own one of each and i got to say the sound of a gibson has so much more tone and better sound quality than the strat so I'd have to side with the gibson

i've owned both. my gibson les paul was too heavy so i bought a studio les paul. i didn't like the high skinny frets on my strat, so i bought one with fat short frets on rosewood. that was over 20 years ago. now i have a strat with the fat frets, rosewood, and humbuckers. tube peavies are better than mosfet marshalls, then again, tube marshalls are better than mosfet peavies. i can't afford either so i bought a vox amp.
