As the title read, my girlfriend is looking for her first CCW pistol. Unlike some other post, she has shot a lot before. She is very safe with a firearm, she has very good muzzle awareness and discipline. Her goal is to get something she enjoys to shoot with, so she can practice and become proficient with it, proficient enough to carry and feel safer.

I'll start with stuff she does not like and would rather not carry:
S&W Bodyguard 380( bad trigger and inaccurate)
S&W Shield in 40S&W( too snappy for the size of the pistol)
Taurus anything ( her grand daddy would beat her, jk but you get the point).
Also, most things that are sized similar to Ruger LCP, Keltec P3AT, Keltec PF9, yadda yadda you get it...

Now stuff she is accurate with and enjoys shooting(She's shot these but some are too big to be a carry option):
Glock 21
Glock 17
MP9
MP45
Buckmarks, Ruger MK's, and other larger 22's
Glock 26
Various fullsize 1911's

She also really likes revolvers, but firing from double action can be hard. As a Glock fanboy, I have been trying to steer her towards a Glock 26(after our day of holding different ones she said it felt the best, she may have been saying that just for me...). I also really want her to try the Ruger SR9C(I've heard great things about the trigger, which I think she would like) but I don't have any experience with it. We went and held a bunch of stuff the other day(they didn't have the SR9C) and the XD caught her eye, I think it was the 3.8(she hasn't shot it but she liked the grip and what not).

What are we missing? How does the SR9C stack up in reliability? What other options are out there? And lastly are we asking the wrong questions? Sorry for the lengthy post but input will be much appreciated. Thanks!

look into a 1911 45 acp with a shorter barrel perhaps

if weight isn't an issue look at sig sauer 229

the sr9c i had was reliable and it never failed me, plus it comes with the magazine extension to add to the normal length magazine for use on the nightstand when concealing it isn't as important.
