Glock 17 gen 1 for $400

Came across a Glock 17 gen 1 in a pawn shop in Douglasville today for $400 . It was kinda beat up ( worn and scuffed slide and missing rear sight) .

Good deal for restoration or just a beater project gun ?

Either way is probably good. I'm no Glock expert by far but I think if you take it to Smyrna they will service it for you.

Yeah and it wouldn't be old school like a Gen 1.

Personally I don't like rails on most guns. It's just ugly to me. But that's just ME. My G19 is a Gen 2 and again, I'm nowhere close to a Glock expert . But I don't see a big mechanical difference in any of them.

The Gen. 1 Glock 17 was discontinued around 1988. They are rarely seen anymore; even the P80 repro versions are scarce. It is a nice thing to own. If you take it back to Glock for service ask the service techs to give you any parts they replace. Those would include the flat extractor, the one piece guide rod, the U notch magazine.
