Glock 19 G5 or G4?

Am I going to loose a lot significant upgrades going from G19 G5 to G4?

You really can't go wrong with a Gen 3, 4, or 5. It's really whatever feels best to you, man. I personally like the grip texture on the Gen 3 the best, but your milage may vary.

Congrats on your Glock 19 purchase. Whatever you decide to ultimately go with, it'll serve you well.

You'll be giving up a more durable finish, Debatable
a slightly better trigger, debatable but I subjectively agree
a more accurate barrel. Nah, marketing hype
If you are a lefty, you give up the ability to make the mag release left handed. Nah, Gen 4 has always had a swappable mag release.
.

Gen 5 does have some internal mechanical improvements, like trigger spring and slidelock spring. I’ll buy one if they release them with finger grooves.

I am picking up a gen 5 19 today. Have had a gen 4 for years but being lefty i like they showing some lefty love. Also like the feel of gen 5 trigger pull. Finger grooves fit me but i like the feel of no grooves better having handled em both a bit more

Never ever make a decision on a pistol based on how it "feels". The "feel" doesn't mean anything when it comes to a pistol. Shoot them for speed AND accuracy on a timer and then pick the one that performs the best for you. That's all that matters.

Just to give you an example. The HK P30, CZ P09, Walther PPQ and Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 all feel far better then Glocks do for me. When I shoot them all in USPSA/IDPA based drills however, the Glock outperforms all of them significantly and the Gen 5s outperform both the Gen 3s and Gen 4s as well, though not as significantly. That's just me. I'm not saying Glocks are for everyone. I'm saying go out and test them against each other and then make your decision. You may be surprised.
