GLOCK 26 OR 43?

I was in the exact same boat. I kept my 19, sold the 26, and bought a 43. IMO, the 26 was too close to the 19 to justify keeping it.

The 43 really is a fabulous gun. Carries good in the pocket of some cargo shorts in the summer, and disappears in a jacket pocket or on the belt in winter. I really dig it way more than I thought I would.

Can I vote for the Shield? :)

Like some others have stated, carrying the 26 and the 19 isn't much different. If you want a comfortable and discreet carry gun, the 43 is a better choice than the 26 IMO. I'm a long time "Glock guy" and I love my 19 and my 17 but I've never warmed up to the subcompact double stacks like the 26/27.

I vote for the Shield as well. Cherokee Gun & Pawn for $299 this week - much cheaper than the 43! I have a 26 & 30S, I've had a 42 and I carry a Shield.

I went back and forth between the G43 and the Shield. Ended up with the G43. After testing both side by side it felt like the Glock was a tighter firing weapon and I shot better with it. Though the Shield had a little less felt recoil and of course is cheaper. Both are great guns though and I was on the fence for a bit.

The cost is relative because you know if you get a Shield then everyone, including yourself, is going to say "put an Apex kit/trigger in it" which will bring the cost right up and over the G43.

Between the G26 and the G43 I vote for the 43. Add a +1 extension to the loaded mag and a +2 to the backup mag and you've got 16 rounds in a slim light weight package.

My 26 is my EDC with a G17 mag for reload when off duty. It conceals well IWB. On duty I carry my 43 as a backup on my ballistic vest under my shirt. I used to carry the 26 like this but everyone knew i had a gun there because of the printing. The only time I have solely carried the 43 is when I have had to wear a suit and I put it IWB with the shirt tucked over it and was total concealed. I have added +2 base plates to the 43 to help the round count. Now that winter is here with bulkier clothes I will probably carry a G17 more often. With the right holster it can conceal OK.
