I just can't remember if the Glock barrel is stainless or not. My daughter's BF wants a polished barrel (which i can do). But, I can't remember is the Barrel will rust after or not. Please advise. TIA

I removed the black coating off of a well used factory Glock barrel with only white vinegar...

I just tossed some vinegar in a old Tupperware container and let the barrel soak for about 20 min. The finish literally bubbled right off and I had to do a little scrubbing.

I still have it to this day and that was about 13 years ago... no rust

Here it is right this moment

Its not stainless. Carbon steel or something like that. I have polished a few in the past and they never rusted. You might have just inspired me to polish the barrel in my Gen4 G17 because I'm bored.

I did the same.. and then polished it with a polish called white diamond you can pick it up in auto zone or o’Reillys... it leaves a nice slick coating on it and was a nice close to mirror look... did it on my G20c and G23c barrels.
