Glock scratches- voice your opinion

Looks like bare metal, how can you tell? Genuinely curious

But seriously, how can you tell? If it was bare metal it would be much more silver and glaring. That's surface scratching and won't in any way damage or malign the finish of the pistol.

Thank you for the info! It seemed to be pretty silver but I guess it would be a lot more noticeable if it were bare metal.

When you scratch a textured finish, it flattens the finish, making it more smooth...which causes it to reflect more light....making it brighter than the surrounding area where the finish is still textured.

If the finish were gone altogether, it would be significantly brighter.
 
Not my expertise either but seriously, those wear marks don’t look deep from here.
Didn’t even see this. This has to be through the finish lol. It’s brighter than everything else
