Goin trout fishing in the Morning...

I am taking my oldest step son on his first "real" trout fishing trip in a little while... I been watching the radar all evening and there is one little spot in way north ga that hasn't been flooded today so hopefully I can put him on a limit so I can catch mine.. Momma loves eatin trout... lol... I will post pics tomorrow and let you know which stream we did the damage in....

Geesh.. They tore me up... We landed 7 keepers and 2 tinys and a few redeye or shoal bass that were tiny... I bet I missed and lost 30 trout... I have never seen so many fish and depending on current determined how they were feeding if at all.... We went to Holly Creek in Cohutta to stay out of the mud creeks.... we had our spots to ourselves all day but I have never been so beat up by trout in my life... All on spinners... There were so many fish that when we would walk up through the rocks we almost stepped on a few... There were some holes that would have 15+ fish in them and they wouldn't even flinch when you pulled through but you could go up above it into the rapids with the swirls and get the rod took out of your hands.. I will get a pic before dinner but they were all 10" browns... I lost 2 that were around the 3lb range.... I didn't over workem either.. they would slam the spinner and come straight out of the water and here comes the spinner flying at the face... I was so frustrated.. My boy caught a couple and had a great time so it was worth it all for that!!!

Any day fishing is good. I'm glad you guys got into some fish.

We went up to Unicoi Sate Park today. Smith's creek was ridiculously filled with trout. We counted well over
100 fish in one spot. I did however forget to take any of my fly gear. One guy let me cast his a few times
and I managed an nice 9-10" rainbow. I felt bad and gave him his rod back. Besides, the kids were waiting
on me so I had to stop.
