My bitch sister ended all communication/contact with my mother years before her passing. The pain and heartache it caused mom until the day she died was unbelievable. My (step) daughter's father treated her like a redheaded stepchild. While treating his stepchildren like royalty. If they wanted it they got it. When Jenny needed her tonsils removed she asked him for help with the bill. "I pay for your insurance that's more than enough" is what he told her. She was working part time and going to college. Meanwhile one stepdaughter was in high school driving a new car that was a sweet 16 gift. That was one of many hurtful things he said/did to her. She disowned him later in life. In conversation she refers to him as asshole or Scott. I get father's day cards, hugs and love from her. I never tried to take his place when she was growing up. I treated her and loved like my own. It is your brothers loss. She is better off without him. Some people do not appreciate what they have.
