Governor's Gun Club

I went by there on Friday at 12:00 noon and it was $12.00 because it was off peak.
Great place to Shoot and nice people, and Good Prices on Firearms as well.

Stopped in the other day out of curiosity, just some random thoughts:

The good: The facility/landscaping are top notch. Very nice. There's a receptionist at the door as you enter, very friendly and not pushy when I told her I was just browsing, which I appreciated (I'm a big time browser/looker, drives my wife batty). The pro shop is very large and spacious. Tons of holsters, range bags, cleaning supplies...about what you'd expect, but I was surprised with the inventory/selection in stock. Lots of gun counters, kinda surprised some guns were not offered, but that may be a supply issue vs not offering this or that. Nice lounge area while waiting to shoot/just hanging out. The range itself is about like you'd expect a new facility to be.

The Bad: Staffing seemed to be on the low end, which for a Saturday morning (when I stopped in) was surprising. There was only one guy manning all the gun counters, vs 3-4 people manning the rental counter, which didn't appear warranted. This could be just shaking off the new business kinks, but one guy manning an assload of counters was poor management, IMO.

The Ugly: IMO, they are high $. Not crazy high, but high none the less. I have to disagree with the previous poster, most of the guns were $30-40 higher than I've seen new elsewhere, and the holsters, etc. were higher, as well. I realize with a nice facility/staffing to pay for, that money has to come from somewhere, so it is what it is.

I to pass by there on my way to anf from work and kept meaning to stop by and check it out. I also meant to see if anyone here had some reviews on it.

Lakeside guns...I went there around my birthday and wife bought me a gun there. The guys there were good people. No complaints. The shooting range? I think its a bit pricey..besides im more closer to adventure outdoors

I just went to Lakeside guns yesterday looking for a descent HD shotgun, worked with Danny there and walked out with a Benelli Nova tactical at a great price and he was really helpful. First true purchase experience I have had there that was good.

Planning on going to the Governors Club to see what the place is like...

I went today. The place is nice! Seemed like they have a range officer browsing the range the whole time. Kind of someone looking over your shoulder. Customer service was great. They got bunch of ammo not for sale. They want to make sure there's ammo for their customer to use. Plus it's high anyways.
