Grip angle

The difference in ergonomics is not just grip angle. As you can see, there is only a 2 degree difference between the 1911 and the Glock, but the natural aiming point is very different. That is due to the difference in position of the webbing between thumb and index finger in relation to the trigger. On the Glock the trigger is much lower than on the 1911.

I know I shoot the 1911 better than my G19..............
Most people have to commit to one or the other to be really good with either. When I switched from 1911 to Glock I had to retire the 1911s, because I lost proficiency trying to go from one to the other. I point a Glock just as naturally as I did a 1911 now.

Due to the higher grip I get on the Glock, I also find it easier to "smother" the pistol in my hands, so it's easier to control recoil for faster follow up shots. YMMV
