GSSF starts again this Friday...........

what are the dates for the other shoots ? never done this but really interested in it . Is their a combined score or do you need to be in all 3 rounds

The series is comprised of 3 shoots. You need to attend 2 of the shoots to be eligible for trophies. But you only have to attend one to have a chance to win a Glock.... The shoots are on the First Friday of each month.

Nevermind... found it.
5 shots each at 3 yds., 5 yds., 7 yds., 10 yds., & 15 yds. w/ 3 seconds per shot for the "pocket" Glocks.... unless the R.O. gets tricky.

That sounds good for one of the shoots, but then the RO has 2 more shoots to change things up.... : ) and I will....25 yds is not out of the question for 5 shots......

I don't really want to start a whole thread just for one simple question, so maybe this is a good place,

When I see a "FDE" colored Glock, is the color just painted on the frame, or is the color actually in the plastic? Like, can you scratch it off, or is the plastic that color through and through?

Sorry but I've never owned a Glock before, much less a colored one. But now I'm thinking about getting one when I found out that the Gen 4s are left-handed friendly.

Thanks.

The frames are molded from the colored resin.... So if you scratch your glock you will still have a colored glock, it will just have a scratch in it...

There's a few indoor ranges in GA that participate. I used to do these at Sandy Springs, but it looks like they've stopped hosting them.

The indoor tournaments are a very simple course of fire, 10 rounds at 5 different distances. You can do the whole thing in about 15-20 minutes from sign-in to scoring.

The GSSF outdoor events are a much bigger deal, with 5 different stages and can take a few hours to run through once. There's only a couple of those in GA, usually in the Spring and Fall.

One thing, you do need to be a GSSF member to shoot in these matches. Not a huge expense but add that in for the cost of the first match. If you do a multi-year membership you'll get a discount on Glocks as well (Blue Label cost + $24 if I remember right).

These matches are a lot of fun, and you can win some good stuff as well, even if you don't finish in the top spots.

These are great opportunities to introduce new shooters (family & friends) into shooting sports in a very friendly, non-intimidating environment.
Plus its not very expensive & a lot of fun.
