Gun friendly vs unfriendly stores

What kind of started this is Costco. I spent a lot of money at Costco and even have the Costco Amex. Between Costco's anti-gun and pro Obama stances, I decided to shop at Sam's. We opened a Sky Miles Amex and will cancel the Costco card when my rewards check comes in. My neighbor works for Costco and we were talking about going to the range after work. He told me Costco won't even let him have a gun in his truck.

I wish I knew before and I would have canceled my membership before I got the credit card.

Didn't Costco have a fatal shooting over a customer who was a veteran in their store or parking lot? It was big national news.

I don't blame them so much. Gun stores that don't allow are unforgivable. Do we all get more stupider in a gun store?

I couldn't tell you who may be gun friendly and who isn't. I bee line to where I want to go, pay and leave. I am concealed, so they never know.

It they are a private company and free to feel however they want, the same as we do.

The shooting was a result of Costco's no gun policy and they don't even have the courtesy of posting a sign.

They are a private company on private property and they ask that you not bring a gun onto their private property.

I will not disarm and I try not to violate property owner's rights.

I can full well understand a gun store having that policy. Far to many people have gone in and without thinking they pull out their carry piece to check to see if this holster is correct or that mag and the next thing you know there is a hole in the ceiling or someone has lead in their belly or leg.

One "gun" shop I frequent has the sign another one, owned by the same people does not. I open carry now and again in the one and conceal carry in the other one. I am pretty sure they are well aware I am healed when I am there but since I don't flash it they don't say anything. When I wanted to see if a holster would work with my handgun I asked if I could try a handgun out of their case.

Without knowing every single one of these companies' policies, it's hard to write them off one way or the other. I'm sure there is at least one policy that Sam's Club (Walmart) has in place that would be against one of your other principles. You're free to choose which principle will determine whether or not you will patronize a business. I prefer to make that choice based on how a company treats its' customers and conducts business rather than by a policy which often is more of legal and/or business decision meant to protect shareholders. Especially when such policies can be easily ignored without incident. Won't go into the whole cc vs oc thing, but that's my take.

Sharpshooters Alpharetta. Insane high pricing. Hard sell sales people.

I've only been asked to leave at one store. That was Tower Beer and Wine off of Piedmont. Partially my fault for open carrying but the security guy tried to tell me it was illegal so I bought my liqour elsewhere.
