Gun laws

I think it's been pretty well covered here. They didn't have guns in the medieval times but people still killed the crap out of each other with swords and spears.

That and is crime one the rise that much or is it just the fact that the population of people continues to rise and the flow of information is increasing?

If you want to do something about it, find a way to change human nature, that would be your best bet

its very easy to assume guns are the problem. I also would not call guns "easy to get" he did pass all the background checks that are in place. you cant stop evil people by banning guns. This guy built bombs from materials that can be bought from any hardware store. We cant shut down home depot because of it. We live in a scary world. All you can do is prepare the best you can and just be aware of your surroundings.

Sam Colt made men equal. Without an equalizer the weak and small could never protect themselves against the powerful. It's possible, with enough skill and awareness, for anyone to keep themselves from becoming a victom. That wasn't true 500 years ago.

great point, but im talking abt if it was a way to make guns no longer exist, period cant help but think the world might be a better place to live in i could be wrong....just a thought

Nope-

Just look at this summary:

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010...ders-multiple-victim-public-shootings-europe/

All over Europe, the private ownership of many guns has been banned. People just turn to other methods, but killings never go down.

It could even be said that killings increase-because it is harder for average people to defends themselves from perps. Some studies have even shown a massive increase in large shootings where bad guys know that they will be preying on an unarmed populance.

In my opinion i think making it easier for law abiding folks to carry would help with this issue. A ton of thugs, crooks and just nut jobs out there dont want a risk. They prey on the weak and the ones they suspect to be easy prey. If you are a crook and plan to rob one of 2 house and ya know one is a gun toting nra member and the other is a lil ol lady scared of guns with the same amount of cash . Who does the crook pick? If crooks thought half of a room of folks was armed most likely they wouldnt enter that room with intent to do harm. the Gov comes and say give us your guns and the honest folks do it , crooks are not going to do so . heck they are breaking laws anyways so what is one more .

maybe martians will visit earth and take all the guns here back to their planet.

sorry, dont mean to be a dik, but your proposal is too flawed. they will not magically disappear and if you make it harder for law abiding citizens to get them, it will have no effect on the criminals ability to get them.

If you want to cross the street and traffic has you blocked, you simply change your approch.
Its easy to blame an inanimate object.

It will make the world a better place for criminals. That's the thing about laws: only law-abiding citizens abide by them. (strange how that works)

Criminals are by definition, habitual law breakers.

You'd be better off wishing that all the hearts of men were pure. The we could sleep without locking our doors, trust everyone we come into contact with, and have guns piled to the ceiling and never once worry about them being used inappropriately.
