Its easy to blame an inanimate object.
You know-
I have thought about this a lot. Society treats few things like guns. Many would have you believe that a gun is inherently dangerous or hazardous just by virtue of it being a gun.
It is entirely illogical and silly to treat guns this way. To the average person, guns are "dangerous" and should be somehow "controlled."
Here is a list of items which can be "dangerous," but do not need to be similarly "controlled."
-Automobiles
-Airplanes
-Power tools
-chainsaws
-electricity
-ladders
-For all these items, "tragic accidents" occur And no one ever blames those accidents on the object itself. For some reason, most people have enough sense to know that some tools can be used incorrectly and result in an undesired outcome. But for guns, it is all different. To read most news reports, you would think that guns jump right out of their cases and shoot people every day-with no operator input.
-Bottom line-the majority of people in this country are ignorant. Ignorant people are easily fooled. And our media is controlled largely by people who wish to fool the masses into agreeing with their agenda.
-We should make an effort to demonstrate a more logical approach to thinking about guns to people who are unfamiliar. Maybe we can change a few minds.
-When you point out how guns are somhow blamed for the actions of a user, it is easy to see how the media tried to play people.
