I just installed the DD Omega yesterday (thanks Benjamin for letting me use your barrel wrench) It wasnt too hard to install.........would have been a lot easier with a receiver vice block. However, I didnt scratch anything except my hand....lol! I think it looks great. It allows me to mount the AFG further out then I could on a standard carbine rail system, which is great for my long arms.
This is one of my most prized possessions.....Vintage Colt AR-15 SP1 Carbine. All Colt with 1x7 16" Pencil barrel. Two position extension tube with aluminum CAR stock.
It's set up to resemble the 629 USGI XM177E2, commonly referred to as a âCommandoâ or without the slip over flash hider and a birdcage installed it'd be more of a 653 which is commonly referred to as a M16A1 Carbine, slang as "CAR-15"
The slip over flash hider isnt completely correct for it to be a XM177E2, but it's close. I'll eventually find a correct slip over flash hider with the grenade ring.
