Gun Safe. Non Climate Control

I’m having a detached garage/shop built and have at least one safe that needs to go in it.
It’s not going to have power for a few months but I need to bring down one of my other gun safes. It is fireproof. The building is not insulated and will not be climate controlled. I’m thinking I could load it up with desiccant pouches to keep moister down.
Anyone else do this with some do’s and don't?
The best and lowest cost desiccant you can buy is white rice. Put some uncooked rice in a panty hose leg and hang it in the safe. Change out every 4-6 months. Feed the old rice to the birds and bushy-tailed treerats.

I had a safe in a detached shop for years. Keep everything oiled keep it dry and make sure there is plenty of ventilation. I ran my building off of a generator once every week or two and had a window for A/C I would crank up but I never had a problem until my wife started bringing in tons of water for silk screen projects. Even then it was only a white mold issue on a couole stocks I solved real quick With better circulation.

Long story short you won't have a problem .
