Gun sales are way down

Too high compared to what? Manufacturers don't operate in an economic vacuum. Input costs, shipping costs, labor costs, machine costs...are much higher for them as well.
Shhhhh. No reason allowed here on odt. If it isn't priced less than cost, it's too damn expensive. Greedy, greedy manufacturers.

12 dollas!?!?!?! I could get that **** for 5.99 a box at Kmart. For a guy making 145 dollars a week moving furniture even that was pricey.
I was going to say seven or eight bucks at first but I thought that sounded awful low but it very well could have been that price. I remember it wasn't much. You could buy 22 long rifle ammo for a buck something a box.

Used guns is about as bad as used vehicles, everyone thinks their **** is worth way more than it really is🤷🏻‍♂️
You got that right! Especially AR-10 platform guns. I built a 308 for around 1,400. That was a Criterion barrel, SLR Ironworks handguard, Superlative Arms adjustable gas block, 3.5 lb. trigger, Ambi charging handle, a good LPK and Magpul stock and grip. Now people want 1,500 up to 2,000 for a used Aero Precision AR-10. Insane in the membrane! 🤪

I’m patiently waiting for Brownells to start dumping ammo like they did in 2018. I remember the $.17/rd 72gr IMI
I love the folks at Brownells and try to support them when possible, but, much like Primary Arms, they don't seem to have received the memo yet on prices, particularly for ammo and firearms. Seems like they both assume their customers aren't capable of searching around online for five minutes to find better pricing.

On top of that, they ask you to pay shipping as well. I received an email from Brownells just yesterday touting the fact that Trijicon, Eotech, and some other higher end optics ship for free this week. Wow, gee, thanks. You mean I can pay MSRP or slightly below and you'll cover shipping?! What a deal...

I'm specifically talking about the manufacturers OP mentioned. And yet they keep churning out less quality products, like the one's OP mentioned. So if they want to a low quality product for a high price, sales are going to be down. Let capitalism do it's thing and one of two things will happen, they'll lower prices, or make a better product.

Also, overall including the used gun market, my point still stands. Whether it's ODT prices or LGS prices.

LOL I wasn't saying it should be priced less than cost. But if y'all are happy overpaying when they jack the prices up each year and blame inflation or cause the government is going to take our guns then do your thing. I mean according to Trump we don't have any inflation right? 🤷‍♂️

But I was referring to the manufacturers OP mentioned in his first post mostly, and it definitely applies to the used gun market as well IMO.

Yes, because companies love to "jack their prices up" so they can see a reduction in sales if the market can't support it. That's exactly the plan.

Just because you can't afford Product X, doesn't mean it's overpriced or that other people can't afford it.
