I feel like Bass Pro may, but I’ve seen about 15% on consignments, which isn’t a ton of we’re talking a huge collection worth over $10,000 (and that actually fetches this).Just be prepared to negotiate like a chinaman. The consigners are gonna want to screw you worst than the customer. Choose wisely my friend. Also I would stay away from pawn shops altogether.
Yesh I know guns sales are down just talking to a local dealer here. If something does sell they don't get what it lost for like it did. Over the last 15 years the gun market has been up and down like a submarine. People feeling like guns are going away has boosted sales like crazy and it happened twice over that time. It only stands to reason that it had to come to a screeching halt at some point. It will platou again down the line but it will take a while for the economy to take a upswing and I mean a good one .I feel like Bass Pro may, but I’ve seen about 15% on consignments, which isn’t a ton of we’re talking a huge collection worth over $10,000 (and that actually fetches this).
I’m concerned that OP may take a bath on it as the gun market is slumping big time. Sales everywhere and things aren’t selling for what they once would.
These are the snakes I speak of!Big difference in the way some handle the commissions on consignments.
Several I know locally will charge a flat %pct. fee.
But I’m aware of one that gives you a price they will pay you upon sale, but then list it at their own price regardless of %pct of profit.
I say that because I watched the store sell a consigned gun for $1200 that they had a $600 consignment payment to seller.
