Im headed to Athens tomorrow to visit my mom and sister. Mom is visiting. I'm taking them both to a range and looking at pistols.

Any recommendations? Have to be open on a Sunday. I would prefer someone with reasonable range rates and gun prices. I'm more than happy to support local as long as they aren't trying to sell $560 gen 4 glock 19s...

Thanks all

Check out Sporting Arms in Winterville. Best in the area in my opinion. Grand Slam Guns, Clyde Armory, or Franklin's are other options. Franklin's probably has more guns to fondle than the rest. All three of those are within a couple miles of one another and all on the Atlanta highway. Sporting Arms is further out, but worth the effort. The only range that you could shoot at will be The Firing Line, and it's right beside Franklin's. Hope this helps brother!

Only gun shop that's open in Athens on a Sunday is Franklin's. The Firing Lane range would be open but it was sold a month ago and it's under extensive renovation.

FIRING LINE RANGE, will be opening again, either the end of this month or in mid JULY, the new owners are from, the
TRADING PLACE, in MONROE, GA.

BLAINE, JUSTIN, LARRY, MASON, Ms. LINDSEY, they can all help, and are very great individuals to deal with..

The range in ATHENS/BOGART, we think will be called, THE ATHENS GUN CLUB/RANGE?

Good luck to the new owners.......................BLAKE!!

THE GEORGIA GUN CLUB, is in BUFORD, Ga., They have 100 yd. rifle range in doors. Give them a call, for details. Its not just a run of mill establishment either.

Just another suggestion...

Hopefully they will put more than 1 light in there!
Always seemed like a dungeon when I would stop by.

And fix the leaking roof. Went in there one time when it was raining and the range floor was wet and it was humid as hell in there. Had to take off my shooting glasses because they kept fogging up. Also my targets were so wet that one of them actually fell off of the hanger when I shot it.

Blake and the guys are completely gutting the place. A/C on the range. New target system, new backstop (rubber). The old backstop was sand, sand that turned to dust, dust that turned to concrete, they had to rent a jackhammer to remove it.
