I was fondling a Tavor in a gun store the other day, and the friendly sales associate was going on and on about how she had worked with the gun in Israel, and had shot it chambered in 7.62x39 and 7.62x51. I nodded politely and skeptically, while thinking that I was unaware of either configuration. Turns out IWI is working on a 7.62 NATO version, but that it is still in development. So, what's the dumbest thing you've been told by someone who clearly doesn't know much about how they make their living?

I don't have a problem with store employees not being completely knowledgeable about every single item behind the counter. But when you start fabricating information, you do your own reputation and the reputation of your business a disservice.
