I have a family member who works at an LGS, very knowledgeable about guns, went thru the Glock armorers course, has an AR armorers certification and spent the first couple of weeks on the job trying to educate customers...now he just asks "How much do you have to spend?" and then gets them the best gun at their price point.

Yeah not recommended but seems to work in a SHTF situation I suppose.

They have conversion barrels for the Glock 20 to shoot 40. I will be getting one of those, but its cool to know that it will work
