Got a LAW tactical folder to put on my DD MK18 Pistol. Need a solid person in the Augusta area to put on for me, as I don't have a bench vise.
Let me know who may be a trustworthy person to do this.....

Thanks,
Chris

A lot of chambering and cycling issues.

This issue has been discussed in detail before on ODT.

This.

You’re taking a solid piece and putting a hinge in the middle.

You’re adding length and weight to the buffer system. You may need to go to a lighter buffer to make up for the extra weight of the system.

In my opinion, you need to have a reason for folding your AR that outweighs a reduction in reliability.

The Law folder was originally designed for the USSS to fit their issued Mk18’s into a mission parameter hard case. They had the chose of not taking their Mk18’s, or folding them to fit in a case so they could take them. In that case, it makes sense to fold them.

Had a customer that wanted to fold his AR so it would fit in his backpack. I told him to buy a bigger backpack, which he did. He kept his reliability, and saved a few bucks.

You won’t find a bigger AR fan than me, but if I had a need to fold up an AR, I would replace it with a different weapon system. There are plenty of weapon platforms in a similar size, many that take the same magazine, that are designed to fold. CZ Bren, Galil Ace, etc.
