Seriously , home depo has the metal things im talking about , there probably $10 , plus the cost of a 2x4. If you have to install 1 at the top part of door and 1 at the lower part of door.
It's all gonna come down to the hinges and door jam in the end anyway, not much you can do , unless you want to start a renovation/remodel job

This is a closed bar staple , 1 on each side of door , mounted to the closest stud on sides of door. . . 2x4 stuck through them

Sorry to offer no help on the door issue and its none of my business, but she does need to stay somewhere else and get a restraining order as well. Too many situations begin like this and end up very bad.

Restraining orders are like laws against drunk driving, assault weapon bans, high capacity magazine bans, and prohibition era laws.. Regardless of them, the person the restraining order is against is still more than capable of doing what they want.. and the way this guy sounds, he won't give two craps about a piece of paper and a court order.

She needs two things.
1) A shotgun
2) For you to be in her house/apartment the next time this a-hole comes over so you can show him what it feels like to have his face hit the floor.

I don't know you, your life, or your situation so I probably have no right to say this so take it with a grain of salt.. but if you really care about her I can't believe your solution would be a "new door."
I know me, and I wouldn't put up with **** like that, I'd put a stop to it. If someone was forcing their way into my girlfriends house/apartment, he'd find himself on the receiving end of an AR barrel.

a door will not stop anyone that wants in drunk or pissed it will just make him madder get the picture
locks only stop honest men from getting in.
