Yup it's a design flaw. They had to use a small handguard but something banging the barrel every shot is bad for accuracy.

I originally dremeled the whole area but I found with bipods attached and any pressure applied at all it still touched.

Still haven't fired it. And it along with everything that is not NFA Class 3 I have is for sale to pay for that dragunov I got on layaway.
