Handgun hunting

I bought it to hunt with but after buying my last SBH, the FA is for sale.
I like it but not as much as the BFR i had.

Today, with companies like Garrett and Buffalo Bore, even if you don't have time to roll your own, a 44 can be a handful.

I also like the additional round a 44 offers over the ol' 4 5 4.

I have shot a small 8 pt. with a Ruger 44 Super Redhawk the first time i took it to the woods. After missing him the first shot about 35 yards away I hit him right in the head with the second shot, but I was aiming at his chest. I dont have a picture of the gun or deer with me.

I have been hunting with handguns for approx. 15 or 16 years now.
Right now I have a Ruger SBH Hunter in .44mag with a Simmons 2-7x scope on it. I also hunt with a Savage Striker. I have a .308win. , a .270win. , a .243win. , and a 7mm08 barrels for it so I can match the caliber to what every I'm hunting. I still want to get a .358win, a .223 rem., and what ever else that I think I need.
So far my best trophy is a 325lbs. Black Bear I took in 1999 that Sq. 6'.
I used a Ruger SRH in .454 Cassull with a Red-dot mounted on it. One shot at 80 yds.
I was using a dieing Jackrabbit mouth call to call him in. He now stands in the corner of our cabin. What an exciting day that was. Up til then I had only shot a spike Blacktail buck with a hand gun.
