In general, I'd recommend not making ANY payment until you meet.

You have no way to know - for sure - whether the item you're buying is as-described. Or even exists.

I can't find his handle.

But in general, reputation is policed pretty well here at ODT, but it *can* be gamed. On the other hand, most reputable traders here expect the purchaser to actually want to see the goods before handing over money, unless they personally have dealt with the seller before.

Me? Cash in hand when dealing with private sellers and buyers.

As a general rule of thumb I try to avoid any business with "tactical" in the name.

If you are meeting him halfway or asking him to hold it for you then it is understandable.
There are way too many tire kickers on here these days for me to get my time wasted.
