Oh yes there is a plate
If my immediate results are any indication, I recommend it. I was in the same boat. I had put the surgery off for 5 years. Now wish I had done it sooner.

I have not had one in the last couple of days( I think ?) , it’s hard to remember details lately ! lol.
But I am doing ok hanging at the house. I have a few folks checking in on me and the wife, of course, is looking out for me .
I am just taking it easy and letting the meds do their job (I hope) ! The big thing is going to be getting used to the changes that are going to have to take place, I am thinking. But I will get by with it ! I have a good support system with friends, family and most of all the ODT !!
lolI do have an appointment on Monday with a neurologist and one with some other specialist doc of some damned sort ! lol.

I’d recommend visiting a podiatrist. They spend their 4 years studying everything from the ankle down. Ortho’s and Neuro’s are good but don’t spend all their time with toes
My final consultation was with Dr. Trevor Black, podiatrist, he agreed with orthopedic surgeon and did the final surgery. The Man is a genius! Can't believe how little post surgery pain I had.
I’m very glad. 20+ years ago I was selling/supporting a medical billing program and attended all the podiatry conventions. I learned about the different levels of expertise, and several of the doctors giving presentations were our clients.
You may not nessecarily want to be the patient of the guy who invents a new surgical technique. But its safe to say that you do not want to see a doctor who doesn’t regularly attend the seminars.
I had zero pain, until the cast came off and I started walking. But even that was nil in a week or less.
