Has anyone had this surgery?

Doctor released me to full activity last Thursday. Surgery on July 8, full recovery last week. Not too bad. Gonna do the other foot in January. Hope that takes care of this issue at least. Had a small basal cell tumor removed from my face. No complications there. This getting old ain't for sissies!

You just have to roll with the punches

Left foot healed well. First time pain free in years. Had the right foot done today.

Worst part is I'll miss the last few days of bow season and my normal February squirrel outings. No weight on foot period for one month!

For some reason (repetitive use injury, active sports life, etc) I had no cartilage left in the first joint of both big toes. Massive nerve pain when they were inflamed. But Think knee replacement surgery except where they replace your knees for motion, they instead fuse the joint to prevent the movement that inflames the joint. As I say left foot was so successful I am doing the right!

Watch for blood clots. Wife had foot surgery recently. Wound up in hospital for blood clots.

Worst thing about the right foot is no driving at all for the first month minimum. So even if I see a deal I wanted or put something up for sale I couldn't travel to do it. So I will be taking some trading time off. Probably save me some cash!
A good side note. My Wife hasn't driven in 2 1/2 months so far. She's just now on a walker in PT. So I get to take her to her, her Mom appointments then myself. Along with taking care of my Dad as well. Ain't gettin nothin done edge wise

Yep, I'm on aspirin with a compression sock on the off leg. Getting up at least every hour to bend and straighten leg and scooter around the house.

Sorry to hear about your wife and the struggles you guys are going through!
