Has anyone here worked 25 hours straight?

Lock in a belt. Load up on smokes then smoke 4 packs a day for a week straight without any sleep.

I hear ya bro....could not imagine being in that type of situations....thank you for your service and sacrifices..

Iv done it many times. Just drink redbull like water. After about 6 it will hurt when you pee so just drink one or two more you will be ok then. :-)

I have had a few. I am already reading what I wrote and wondering why I even bothered. Thanks for the thanks though brother. I should probably delete that and call it a night.

If you do it, just be careful driving. Driving tired impairs you just as much as driving drunk.

I've stayed up pretty long when I was in college working some projects. It does different things to different people. I remember hitting waves. I'd get sleepy for a bit then get through it for a while.

Used to work 24-30 hr shifts at least once a week, now maybe once a month.

Eat light and frequently, take a "vitamin B complex", avoid sugar & caffeine if you can as you only crash harder the longer you go (I would drink sports drinks to keep me going). If on your feet the whole time, very comfortable foot ware / insoles.

At least that's what worked for me and after waking up from recovery sleep I didn't feel like a Mack truck just rolled over me

I did emergency water damage restoration for a few years. We would be on call at night and a lot of times just work though the night and start our next day without ever going home, so about 30-36 hours without sleep. You can do it just fine if its like once or twice a week. You will only be miserably for about 2-3 hours somewhere in the night shift. After that you will be fine. Don't be scared to try it. Just don't try to do it every day...

This, I've done my fair share of cat 3 jobs into the wee hours.

Worked two full time jobs for three years....when kids were young so wife could stay home with them. Doctor prescribed prenatal vitamins for me....and they really work. I was MUCH younger then. Lately have done a few 24 hour stints when we had something broke out of town. Not as easy as it used to be....takes me days to get over one of those 24 hour work days now. Health comes first....all the money in the world won't buy good health, so be smart and take care of yourself.

Physical labor, provided its not to intense, isn't that bad for a long stretch like that. I usually have difficulty thinking at around 20 hours though. Usually these are emergency program fixes. Once you break to 20+ mark, coding takes at least twice as long.

I've done it, I'm in IT and architect some of the worlds most visited sites. You get used to it actually, after 14 hours it's all the same. Anything after 28 and it's useless IMO as your essentially brain dead by then :P
