Have you ever asked yourself......................

A 12 gauge shotgun with both a smoothbore barrel that uses screw-in choke tubes,

And a dedicated SLUG BARREL, rifled bore, preferably cantilevered and permanently wearing a low-variable-power scope... would be a fine deer /hog /bear gun for most people, including me.
A rifled-bore shotgun with saboted slugs can hit a deer's vials at 200 yards.
And still impact with over 1000 foot-pounds of kinetic energy.

Hard to beat a shotgun for versatility

I suppose my answer to the question is that I'm still of the mind to having something purpose driven for various scenarios/situations.

Different sized handguns for different times of year and concealability.

Different rifles for taking down specific game/threats depending on where I find myself.

.22 rifle and pistol. Because of course.

Shotgun because of course.

One could argue that technically one weapon could fill several of the main needs, but it wouldn't do all of them quite as well. So my thought being, if it's in the budget, why not get something that does that particular task better?

My drill could have definitely put my shed together. But that nailgun was the jam. YMMV

Do I really need all these firearms? I use to think of certain scenarios where I might need something so I had to buy it.

Dumb quote but a little truth can be found in it.
Thats like drinking one beer brand for the rest of your life. Effective yes, but fun and interesting. Hell no.
