"They" are full of crap. A standard AR will run quite a long time without lubrication. Mike Pannone proved this years ago. Just because they can, doesn't mean they should. That Anderson may run 1-2k rounds before it has a failure. My AR, correctly lubricated, will run thousands and thousands of rounds without cleaning, simply by regularly applying lubrication.LOL why, they quote it does not need it. I thought the same as you before. It's worth a try to me and if not then they can replace it.
Believe me, The others get lubed, LOL
My best guess is that R85 is probably just a form of PTFE coating like PSA use to coat the inside of their buffer tubes with.....which did nothing."They" are full of crap. R85, whatever that is, is nothing more than a sales gimmick.
In the past, I had some issues with their receivers being out of spec. But that was back during one of the panics, so maybe QC slipped during a period of high demand. Today, their receivers seem pretty good. Their barrels are Ballistic Advantage (Aero bought BA). So the barrels are good too. I have no experience with their bolt carrier groups. And I have heard a few complaints about assembly recently.Any thoughts on Aero Precision?
The spec actually calls for a dry film lube on the inside of the receiver extension and the upper receiver. But it does eventually wear through. My best guess is that R85 is probably just a form of PTFE coating like PSA use to coat the inside of their buffer tubes with.....which did nothing.
I was about to say that stuff wore out of the tube within a couple hundred rounds. I just wipe my spring down with a coat of CLP occasionally. Everything else get EWL, which I have been very pleased with thus far. Seems to hold up much better than CLP, especially suppressed. The spec actually calls for a dry film lube on the inside of the receiver extension and the upper receiver.
