I received this in a trade and really know nothing about 1911's.... Anyone care to help? Its a Colt Combat Commander w/crimson trace laser grips.. Judging by the serial number and a little website I found it looks to be made in 1979.. The finish shows some signs of age, but the gun shoots very well. So what exactly do I have here and what is it worth?

i'm not by any means an expert... but how many colt firearms have coltS on them?

i have no idea about it, just would like to know for myself

$700-1000 I would say is a fair price for a nickel combat commander. The grips are worth $150 by themselves and you would be better off selling them separately if that is why you want the value. I would pickup some series 70 checkered walnut grips for it. As I think those would be correct for the gun. It’s ard to see the condition of the gun with the pics. Looks to be in pretty good condition though.
