Notice the Greener type side safety
on the left side, above the trigger. Same thing as what Greener used on some of their shotguns.
A customized sporterized Mauser rifle made by Eduard Kettner also had such a side safety installed. See pic.
I wonder if that was installed with the anticipation that a scope would block the use of the wing safety on the back of the bolt.
