Hey guys! Thinking about build a small chicken coup in my back yard.

No taller than my 6 foot privacy fence. Hens only no roosters.

Any recommendations for plans for something like this?

I dunno. My Pops knows all about chickens. He was a farm boy who raised them. Just looking for ideas about a coup.

plans for this came from 3rd coast craftsman. Was pretty easy to build. Fun and 1/2 price of a bought one. lots of plans on etsy for smaller ones.

We have 11, 3 Roos ( on accident) and 8 layers. We get 6 to 8 eggs a day.

When building any coop, you need to make it predator proof.

We added hardware cloth to the bottom and extra chicken wire wrapped around this. This is a Tractor Supply coop we did last year.

We also added a Harbour Freight tarp for a roof to help keep them dry.

some of those are kind of flimsy wood(considered them at 1st) and also need to replace the chicken wire with some hardware cloth. Raccoons seem to be able to wrestle that chicken wire.
