They are right.
These are REALLY cheap. Crap wood. Rot in a year with cheap paint.
Not knocking your suggestion just speaking from experience.
If you want to replace over and over and it always looks nice- it’s GTG.
The last two I bought I had to replace after one year but I didn’t want to drop the coin on a nice one.

we looked at them also and they are way out of my price range (granted they are excellently built)I have an estimate from Carolina Coops https://carolinacoops.com/ to make a really nice 10’x10’ coop with a 30’ foot run. Needless to say the price tag was enormous (80k). We have pulled a permit and had the tree removed in the area are going to build.
We are going with 16’x16’ 1/2 greenhouse and 1/2 chicken coop with an attached covered run.
I understand you are thinking small and have lots of questions but spend some time looking at the videos on youtube. You don’t have to pay to get some really good ideas from them.

I have been told by a few friends with coups that the most important thing to do when building one is to dig it down a foot so predators can't dig under it. How true is this? That would not allow moving the coup but I don't think that's really necessary anyway unless you want them to free range.
We had 30. Predators (fox, hawk, dog) knocked that down to 7. Sudden death for two now we have 5. I’ve seen my chicks eat two snakes so far.
They were free range but the predators forced us to get a cheap 10x20 enclosure from Amazon for $200/300. Well worth it. I put extra wire fence around it and have about two foot of it skirting down out in hopes of nothing digging under with cider blocks holding it down. They have a 2x4 & dowel rod roost & lay in a large covered plastic tote with layer mats from Amazon.
Covered it with a cheap tarp two years ago & still on it.

Do NOT buy those. The consensus is absolute garbage.
Just "wing" it. I built a nice SOLID tractor with no real plans. As mentioned use hardwire and I'd suggest cutting to shape vinyl flooring for the roost area to make clean out super easy.

Apparently true for many. My niece has around 100 (not counting ducks, guineas and turkeys). All "pets". 🙄
