Hickok 45

I like to watch him because he is very unbiased in his reviews and especially because he gets to do something a lot of guys don't have time for............. try out a ton of neat guns!

If I am curious about a certain weapon and have never seen or heard reviews on it, I will look for Hickock 45's videos on youtube to get a general idea about the weapon.

Don't you like to do that too?
Yes, guess I just didn't think to put it on YouTube and become famous.
Tell them about the time you tricked me into shooting a full, unopened beer.

I'll never forget the horror of that day. It was like it exploded in slow motion and sprayed perfectly good beer everywhere.

(Again, NO I'm not making this up)
It was a Natural Ice.... So it could not have been a perfectly good beer.

I believe that his personality is what attracts many subscribers. To me he comes across as very "relateable".
He sounds like a good ol' country boy who enjoys shooting.

Watching how many channels like his that are entertaining but lacking in content, or maybe perspective, for serious defensive firearms devotees has inspired me to start my own channel... hopefully sometime early next year.

One advantage I believe I will have is the experience I gained by teaching full-time for almost 6 years.
Watching/ training somewhere around 1000 students in that time has been very educational.
Training w/such a broad variety of shooters w/ so many diverse backgrounds, skill levels, types of firearms, physical abilities, carry methods, etc. has taught me so much.

Very few Instructors outside Military & L.E. circles make their primary living teaching firearms. Logging literally thousands of hours working primarily w/ civilians doesn't seem very common but is experience that I believe will offer value to others. With the direction our country seems to be heading as evidenced by the untold masses buying guns for the first time there is a need for more content for the average citizen who is either just getting started or has been a "gun person" most of their life but has had no formal training.

As far as "youtubers" whom I have been impressed so far, Sootch, M.A.C. , T. Haley, & of course Miculek all seem to have pretty solid content.
I have met a few of those guys and Sootch and Hickock great guys and personalities , Travis was business all business but great guy with many cool stories
