Looks like you're pretty well north, in the clear for now. I'm no biologist so I have no idea if they would take to the terrain well. However, given how they have spread thus far, it might be inevitable.

Maybe it's too soon to speak, but I think this initiative would be a lot more effective if it was aimed less towards landowners and more towards the general hunter side of things. The big prize being a huge hog trap isn't too appealing to average joe in the woods. If they really wanted to see some dead hogs, they would be better off offering a cash reward of equivalent value. Right now the prize being a tool that is really only useful to landowners with severe hog infestation is not that great of an incentive IMO. They're catering to a significantly smaller group of hunters than are in the state by doing this.

I have hunted pig before. I killed a 300 pound trophy at danger close range with a 357 handgun.

I am retired and would love to have permission to regularly kill pigs on someone’s property. I’m not up for public hunting. There are people who have farms with a real problem and need help. I’m an old Eagle scout. You know take only photographs, leave only footprints. Leave it in better shape than when you found it. Unfortunately not everybody shares the same ethics and one idiot who leaves trash or breaks something spoils things for the future.

With the $3500 hog trap they are giving away, someone could really build a hog eradication business around it. If they were willing to do all the hard work at night.
