Best idea! I would always take my G20 while hog hunting on a WMA as my "CCW". The .22 lr that I carried was just for show.

Ok I got something to throw in the ring here.
Say im turkey hunting on Saturday on a certain wma with hogs and one steps out I pop him with my carry gun.
Not the shotgun. I wonder what the rule is there.
I normally carry my .357mag but if can pop one with my side arm ill carry my .44mag ranchhand.
I guess all that comes under the use the weapon for the season only deal. Bet its a no go.
I don't think you're 'full of it' as I know what you claim to be correct.A little off the subject, but during furbearer season(last season) on wmas, you could use centerfire weapons to hunt hogs.Which means your deer rifle. For instance,if a wma allowed you to hunt fox, bobcat after deer season, you could go there and hunt hogs with the same weapon,as centerfires were legalized this past season for fox and cats.No orange required. But highly recommended. If you think I`m full of "it",this was brought to my attention by a game warden who is an area manager on a wma with some hogs on it.
