I don't know why they would feel bad. I think I probably paid a little more than that for mine several years ago. It's still my go-to carbine ...and 9 of 11 of my ARs are carbines...Sweet little rifle. Mine's not the sport model though. I have no idea if that makes a difference in quality. This time of year you will always see insane prices on very limited inventory. Big gun stores don't mind losing a few bucks on "bait and switch" ploys. "Well dang, we are out of those...but look at this." "Shrug" It works. Unless you are buying to resell at a profit, nobody is overpaying for a 500 dollar AR just because they weren't one of the lucky 10 folks to snag a Black Friday special.
